About Us > Dave Serino Dave's career has taken him from group to leisure sales and from resorts to
CVBs. At all of these stops along the way, uniting marketing with
technology to drive sales has been his professional passion. After graduating from Wilkes University with a BA in communications, Dave learned tourism in the trenches with jobs at the Radisson on the Lake Resort and Conference Center (now a Marriott property) in Ypsilanti, Michigan and at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island. As early as 1994, he was utilizing technology to move Mission Point toward one-to-one customer relationship management. Armed with a clear understanding of the rhythms, cycles and trends of the hospitality business, Dave moved into the world of convention and visitor bureaus. Here, he deployed his first website in 1995, just as the Internet was initially being commercialized. Intuitively, he knew the implications of this technology for the Ann Arbor CVB, where he was director of marketing and sales. In conjunction with the website, Dave authored a comprehensive online marketing plan. In 1996 he developed a marketing program aimed at the group sales market that integrated an offline direct mail promotion with a call to action requiring web registration. He was ahead of the technology and the public relations curve with an online promotion of the Ann Arbor Fair. The media provided an immense amount of coverage of this unique digital showcase. Moving to the Detroit CVB, Dave further honed his database technology skills. He also played a significant role in the redesign of the bureau's website. He joined Destination Marketing Group in 1999 and rounded out his tourism
education working with state tourism offices, as well as CVBs.
Dave's understanding of technology and his penetrating insight into tourism
marketing provided the perfect launching pad for Gammet Interactive in
2000.Dave speaks knowledgeably on tourism and technology marketing topics ranging from the evolution of e-mail marketing to search engine optimization. He has presented at more than 40 travel industry conferences and, in the summer of 2004, he conducted the successful e-Marketing Insight Conference - an annual program focused on internet marketing trends within the tourism industry.
